Here’s what the job entails As our new Lead Power Trader, you will be responsible for overseeing all power trading activities in Brazil. You will lead the development and execution of trading strategies, hold full P&L responsibility, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
Your areas of responsibility will include: Develop and implement trading strategies to maximize profitability and monitor market trends. You will execute trades within authorized limits and risk parameters Utilize statistical models and data analytics tools to interpret market data, forecast demand, and identify patterns that impact the power sector Conduct detailed market analysis to identify trading opportunities and develop models to forecast market trends Monitor and manage trading risks, ensuring adherence to risk limits and collaborate with the risk management team to develop and refine risk policies Ensure all trading activities comply with local regulations and market rules, and maintain up-to-date knowledge of regulatory changes and their impact on trading activities Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including customers, suppliers, and regulators.
Represent the company at industry events and forums and communicate trading performance and market insights to senior management and other stakeholders Meet your team You will be part of our vibrant office in the financial heart of São Paulo. You take ownership of your results, work with a high degree of accuracy, and apply a holistic approach where you have an eye for market risks but also find it natural to apply other factors in your analyses. We also imagine that you: hold a bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Engineering, or a related field have a minimum of 8 years of experience within energy trading possess a strong understanding of the Brazilian power market, including regulations, market dynamics, and key stakeholders have a proven track record of developing and executing successful trading strategies are familiar with database management systems such as SQL Server are comfortable managing risk and making decisions in volatile market environments are fluent in both English and Portuguese, written and spoken We’ll take good care of you At Danske Commodities, we take great care of our people.
