Marine Propulsion Specialist (inspection / fitting / commissioning) - Caribbean

We are hiring a skilled Propulsion Expert to lead and support propulsion system repairs, upgrades, and installations across ship repair and drydock operations. This role is ideal for a specialist with strong experience in shaftline works, propulsion troubleshooting, and technical supervision.

Key Responsibilities

Diagnose and repair propulsion and drivetrain system faults Lead inspection and repair of shaftline, bearings, seals, couplings, and stern tube systems Support propeller and steering system repairs and installation activities Perform alignment checks and support commissioning and trials Plan and supervise propulsion works during drydock operations Coordinate with engineering, machining, and electrical teams Produce technical reports, inspection findings, and job close-out documents Requirements Qualification in Marine Engineering / Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience Minimum 5+ years experience in propulsion repair and shipyard operations Strong understanding of alignment, tolerances, and marine propulsion systems Ability to lead technicians and manage critical repair scopes
