Role Overview The Service Captain will be responsible for overseeing floor operations, ensuring service standards are executed flawlessly, and guiding the service team in delivering a calm, observant, and non-intrusive dining experience.
This role requires strong leadership, attention to detail, and the ability to read the floor in real-time — stepping in only when necessary while maintaining seamless service flow.
Key Responsibilities
Supervise and coordinate front-of-house service staff during shifts Ensure all service aligns with Japanese hospitality principles (subtle, attentive, non-intrusive) Monitor table flow, guest experience, and service timing across the floor. Step in to handle complex guest interactions or escalations. Train and guide wait staff on service etiquette, timing, and behavior Ensure staff understands when to engage and when to step back.
Oversee table allocation, seating flow, and peak-hour management Coordinate closely with kitchen and bar for smooth service execution Maintain high standards of grooming, hygiene, and floor presentation Support digital menu operations and assist guests when required Drive consistency in service quality across all shifts.
Requirements
Required Skills & Qualifications 2 to 6 years of experience in restaurant or hospitality service Prior experience as a Captain / Senior Steward / Floor Supervisor Strong leadership and team management skills Excellent communication and guest-handling ability Ability to remain calm and composed under pressure Strong observational skills and decision-making ability on the floor High standards of grooming and professionalism Preferred Skills Experience in Pan-Asian, Japanese, or premium dining environments Basic understanding of wines and food pairing Experience managing digital ordering systems Exposure to structured or fine-dining service standards Benefits Compensation & Benefits Salary: ₹22,000 – ₹30,000 per month.
