Freight Forwarding Manager
Job description
To develop and market the Swift Freight Forwarding service Supervise end-to-end freight forwarding operations (import, export, air, sea, and land) Coordinate with customs, shipping lines, and port authorities for clearance and release Ensure timely preparation and submission of documentation (BLs, DOs, declarations) Oversee transport scheduling, delivery coordination, and client communication Maintain tracking systems using Microsoft Office and Google Sheets Troubleshoot delays, shipment issues, and customer complaints Monitor performance metrics and implement process improvements Uphold compliance with customs, quarantine, and port regulations Mentor and manage staff across freight and documentation functions.
Requirements
Conversational English (conversational in Chinese a plus) Experience in freight forwarding, customs clearance, or export logistics Familiar with import/export documentation and PNG customs processes Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills under pressure Proficient in Microsoft Suite and Google Sheets Adaptable and well-suited for a rugged, fast-paced work environment Willingness to be based in Lae, Papua New Guinea.
