Financial Accounting Specialist
Job description
The Financial Accounting Specialist is responsible for accurately and timely recording financial transactions in the General Ledger, maintaining the integrity of accounting records, performing reconciliations, and supporting month-end closing and financial reporting in compliance with IFRS, SOCPA requirements, and company policies.
Responsibilities
Record and post manual and system-generated journal entries in SAP. Ensure accuracy, completeness, and proper supporting documentation for accounting entries. Prepare accruals, prepayments, provisions, and adjusting entries. Maintain proper mapping of transactions to GL accounts and cost centers. Perform monthly reconciliations for balance sheet accounts.
Reconcile bank, AR/AP control, inventory, payroll, and intercompany accounts. Investigate and resolve reconciliation differences on a timely basis. Maintain reconciliation schedules with proper documentation for audit purposes. Support monthly and year-end closing activities. Ensure transactions are recorded in the correct accounting period.
Review GL balances and identify abnormal movements. Propose adjusting entries when required. Assist in preparing trial balance and financial reporting schedules. Ensure compliance with IFRS, SOCPA, and internal finance policies.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance. 3 to 6 years of experience in General Ledger or Financial Accounting. SOCPA certification is require.. Hands-on SAP experience is required. Strong knowledge of General Ledger accounting. Experience in account reconciliations. Knowledge of month-end and year-end closing. Knowledge of IFRS and SOCPA requirements.
Pharmaceutical or manufacturing industry experience is preferred only, not mandatory. Strong English communication skills are required.
