From recruitment and training to ensuring the well-being of your colleagues. Role Overview The Department Manager is responsible for leading and managing a specific department within the store, ensuring excellent customer service, strong team performance, and delivery of sales and operational targets.
Key Responsibilities
🔹 Team Leadership Lead, coach, and develop a team of retail associates Drive a high-performance culture through regular feedback and support Manage scheduling, attendance, and team productivity 🔹 Customer Experience Ensure exceptional in-store customer experience at all times Handle escalations and resolve customer issues effectively Maintain strong visual merchandising and store standards 🔹 Sales & Performance Monitor department sales performance against targets Identify opportunities to improve sales and customer engagement Implement action plans to achieve KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) 🔹 Operations & Compliance Ensure store policies and procedures are followed Maintain stock accuracy and inventory control Support audits and ensure compliance with company standards 🔹 Collaboration Work closely with Store Manager and other department managers Support wider store initiatives and campaigns Essential Requirements Previous experience in retail, preferably in a supervisory or managerial role Strong leadership and team management skills Customer-focused mindset with strong problem-solving ability Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment Good communication and interpersonal skills Preferred Qualifications Experience managing teams in a high-volume retail environment Knowledge of retail KPIs and performance management Experience with workforce planning and scheduling Education High school diploma or equivalent required Degree in Business, Retail Management, or related field (preferred but not mandatory) Key Skills Leadership & Coaching Customer Service Excellence Sales & Commercial Awareness Problem Solving Time Management Team Collaboration What you bring with you: Your work is characterized by close, proactive collaboration with our on-site management and sales teams, making a significant contribution to the success of our PRIMARK store .
