Job description
Planning Engineer To plan and integrate the operations of an organisation and optimise resource utilization. To monitor and maintain operational efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Production planning & scheduling: Lead production planning and forecasting to optimize team utilization and reduce operating costs. Develop a detailed Master Production Schedule (MPS) in close collaboration with the production team every week for both Make-to-Stock (MTS) and Make-to-Order (MTO) products. Coordinate with the factory team to prepare factory layouts and conduct weekly mould planning aligned with the MPS. Monitor daily production performance and conduct delay analysis; visit sites or factories as needed to address any issues affecting production or erection schedules. Prepare detailed dispatch and erection schedules for individual projects, and support communication between production, dispatch, and site project teams to ensure timely execution. Provide a work breakdown structure (WBS) in coordination with the quantity surveyor and other teams.
- Resource planning: Conduct weekly resource planning in collaboration with design, procurement, erection and production teams to optimise material, manpower and equipment usage at both the factory and site levels.
- Cross-functional coordination: Serve as a liaison between production, site, design, and procurement teams to ensure effective resource utilization, maximize operational efficiency, and improve working capital management.
- Problem identification & opportunity analysis: Identify operational problems and potential process-improvement opportunities, and propose solutions to enhance overall efficiency. Professional Requirements: The ideal candidate will possess the following professional assets: Requirements Education Degree Level: Master's/Degree Field of Study: Construction management. Previous Experience: 3-4 yrs of relevant experience, Precast experience is mandatory Technical Skills: Conflict management, interpersonal skills, and a strong grasp of resource planning concepts. We are willing to train people in these areas if the candidate is otherwise qualified: Knowledge of precast products. Knowledge of conflict management and interpersonal skills.
