  • Cath Lab for our Hospital client in Dublin. This is a full time, permanent Responsibilities Deliver safe, evidence-based nursing care to patients before, during, and after cardiac catheterisation and interventional cardiology procedures. Prepare patients for diagnostic and interventional procedures, including assessment, patient education, consent verification, and pre-procedure care. Assist Cardiologists and the multidisciplinary team during cardiac catheterisation, angioplasty (PCI), pacemaker insertion, and other invasive cardiac procedures. Continuously monitor patients' haemodynamic status, cardiac rhythm, and vital signs, promptly identifying and responding to clinical changes or emergencies. Administer medications, intravenous therapies, and conscious sedation in accordance with hospital policies and medical directives. Maintain a sterile environment, ensure the safe handling of specialised equipment, and adhere to infection prevention and radiation safety protocols. Provide post-procedure care, including haemostasis management, monitoring for complications, pain management, and discharge education. Accurately document patient assessments, procedures, medications, and nursing interventions in accordance with professional and legal standards. Collaborate effectively with cardiologists, nurses, radiographers, and allied healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care and positive clinical outcomes. Participate in quality improvement initiatives, mandatory training, continuing professional development, and comply with hospital policies, health and safety regulations, and professional standards.

Requirements

Registered as a Registered General Nurse (RGN) with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI) or eligible for registration. Minimum 1–2 years of post-registration acute hospital nursing experience, with Cardiology, Coronary Care (CCU), Cardiac Catheterisation Laboratory, ICU, or Emergency Department experience preferred.

Current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS); Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification is desirable. Strong clinical assessment, ECG interpretation, haemodynamic monitoring, and emergency response skills, with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Excellent communication, teamwork, and organisational skills, with a commitment to patient safety, evidence-based practice, and continuous professional development.
