Job description

Power Electronics Design Engineer Overview The Power Electronics Design Engineer will be responsible for the design, development, simulation, testing, validation, and optimization of power electronic systems and subsystems for specialized applications. The role involves working on power conversion products including inverters, converters, battery chargers, AC power supplies, and DC power supplies while ensuring performance, reliability, and compliance with applicable standards.

Candidates from Aerospace, Defence, Aviation, Industrial Electronics, Automotive, Renewable Energy, Power Systems, Automation, or other relevant industries are welcome to apply. Industry background is flexible; however, strong hands-on experience in Power Electronics and Analog Circuit Design is mandatory.

Key Responsibilities

● Design, develop, simulate, and optimize power electronic circuits including: ○ Inverters ○ DC-DC Converters ○ AC-DC Converters ○ Battery Chargers ○ AC Power Supplies ○ DC Power Supplies ● Utilize simulation and modeling tools such as MATLAB/Simulink, PLECS, LTspice, and other relevant platforms for circuit analysis, design verification, and performance optimization.

● Build hardware prototypes and perform hands-on testing, debugging, troubleshooting, and fault diagnosis activities. ● Collaborate with PCB layout engineers or directly support PCB layout activities with focus on: ○ High-current and high-voltage routing ○ Thermal management ○ Parasitic minimization ○ Design optimization for manufacturability and reliability ● Select suitable power electronic and analog components considering electrical, thermal, reliability, and application-specific requirements.

● Conduct thermal analysis, qualification testing, screening tests, and EMI/EMC evaluations. ● Participate in Preliminary Design Reviews (PDR) and Critical Design Reviews (CDR) conducted by customers and internal stakeholders. ● Support product development activities throughout the complete product lifecycle. ● Ensure designs comply with applicable military standards, safety requirements, and engineering best practices.

● Prepare and maintain technical documentation including: ○ Technical Specifications ○ Hardware Design Documents ○ Working Principle Documents ○ Schematics ○ Bill of Materials (BOMs) ○ Acceptance Test Procedures (ATP) ○ Acceptance Test Reports (ATR) ○ Qualification Test Procedures (QTP) ○ Reliability Calculations ○ Derating Analysis ○ FMECA Analysis ○ Design Reports Qualifications ● Bachelor's or Master's Degree in: ○ Electronics & Communication Engineering (ECE) ○ Electrical & Electronics Engineering (EEE) ○ Instrumentation Engineering ○ Telecommunication Engineering ○ Power Electronics Engineering ○ Other relevant disciplines Experience ● 3+ years of hands-on experience in Power Electronics Design and Development.

● Strong experience in Analog Circuit Design and Power Supply Design. ● Candidates should have successfully completed and delivered at least 4–5 Power Electronics projects. ● Experience in Aerospace or Defence Power Supply Design will be considered an added advantage but is not mandatory.

● Knowledge of EMI/EMC compliance requirements and mitigation techniques. ● Knowledge of military standards including: ○ MIL-STD-461E ○ MIL-STD-810G ○ MIL-STD-704 ○ MIL-STD-2164 ○ MIL-STD-1629 ○ MIL-STD-217G Hardware Skills ● Hands-on experience with laboratory equipment such as: ○ Oscilloscopes ○ Digital Multimeters (DMM) ○ AC/DC Power Sources ○ Electronic Loads ○ Logic Analyzers ○ Spectrum Analyzers ○ Power Analyzers ○ Other relevant test and measurement instruments Documentation Skills ● Experience preparing and reviewing: ○ ATP ○ ATR ○ QTP ○ Reliability Reports ○ Derating Analysis ○ FMECA Analysis ○ Screening Test Documents ○ Technical Specifications ○ Hardware Design Documents ○ Design Reports ○ Schematics ○ BOMs Soft Skills ● Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

● Excellent technical documentation and reporting abilities. ● Effective communication and collaboration skills. ● Ability to work independently and within cross-functional teams. ● Strong troubleshooting and fault-finding capabilities.
