Job description
As a Software Engineer – Windows Server, you will be responsible for the maintenance, administration, and continuous improvement of Windows and Hypervisor based systems that support critical enterprise operations.
Your role
will involve ensuring system stability, performing proactive monitoring, resolving technical issues, and supporting the deployment and configuration of business applications. This position demands deep expertise in Windows administration, strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, and a proactive approach to ensuring system performance, security, and availability.
ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES Delivery and Execution
- Monitor and maintain the health, availability, and performance of Windows based systems
- Perform routine system administration tasks, including patch management, backups, and scheduled updates
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to performance, system errors, user access, and connectivity
- Support the configuration, deployment, and tuning of business applications on Windows platforms
- Implement security controls and system hardening measures in line with compliance requirements Support and Enablement
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of system configurations, processes, and incident logs
- Work closely with infrastructure, application, and security teams to support integrated system requirements
- Participate in internal and external audits by ensuring system integrity, compliance, and traceability
- Contribute to continuous improvement through automation, knowledge sharing, and process optimization
- Support efforts to modernize infrastructure using tools, scripts, and frameworks that reduce manual overhead Requirements Education and Certifications
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology or related field
- Microsoft certifications such as Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate, or MCSA/MCSE/MCSD are preferred Required Experience
- 1–4 [CK1.1][SS1.2]years of relevant experience in Windows system administration and enterprise IT support
- Exposure to enterprise-grade infrastructure environments, including both on-prem and cloud setups Essential skills
- Strong proficiency in the various versions of Windows ranging from 2008, 2012, 2016, 2019, 2022 and 2025
- Experience with Active Directory and AD management tools
- Experience with local user and group management, file systems, permissions, and shell scripting (Bash, Python, etc.)
- Familiarity with system performance monitoring, log analysis, and incident diagnostics
- Ability to troubleshoot issues related to hardware, operating systems, and network connectivity
- Sound understanding of backup, patching, and update processes for Windows systems Desired skills
- Exposure to virtualization platforms such as VMware, Nutanix, Dockers or KVM
- Understanding of cloud environments (GCP and Azure) and hybrid infrastructure models
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and code-based resource configuration and administration
- Familiarity with patch management and configuration and automation tools like Big Fix
- Awareness of security hardening practices, patch lifecycle management, and compliance standards
- Knowledge of ITIL frameworks and experience with incident/change management tools (e.g., Service. Now, Remedy)
- Foundational understanding of AI-driven automation in IT operations
- Experience in using RESTful APIs for system interactions
- Experience with VDI Desktop technologies – Citrix and W365 Benefits
