Job description

Job Description: SAP Technical Consultant (SAP BTP & S/4HANA Public Cloud) will design, build, and deploy cloud applications and integrations on SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP) and SAP S/4HANA Public Cloud. The role focuses on clean core aligned extension development, modern cloud-native engineering practices, and end-to-end automation using CI/CD to enable reliable, repeatable delivery.

The consultant will work across SAP and non-SAP landscapes, leveraging BTP services to deliver secure, scalable solutions.

Key responsibilities

  • Design and develop extensions on SAP BTP (Cloud Foundry) using CAP and SAP HANA Cloud.
  • Build clean core–compliant extensions for SAP S/4HANA Public Cloud (side-by-side / in-app as applicable) with strong governance around extensibility.
  • Model and implement data structures and services using CDS and expose/consume APIs (OData/REST).
  • Integrate SAP and third-party systems using SAP Integration Suite, Event Mesh, destinations, and APIs.
  • Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines to automate build, test, and deployment workflows across environments.
  • Apply security best practices: authentication/authorization, secure coding, and identity lifecycle management using IAS/IPS.
  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize applications for performance, reliability, and scalability using SAP BTP tooling. Required technical skills:
  • Strong hands-on experience with build automation and DevOps practices in SAP/cloud environments.
  • Deep expertise in SAP BTP services, including Cloud Foundry, CAP, and SAP HANA Cloud.
  • Proven experience with clean core development principles for SAP S/4HANA Public Cloud.
  • Strong CDS modeling skills.
  • Proficiency in Node.js/JavaScript (preferred) or Python for cloud application development on BTP.
  • Experience with SAP Fiori/UI5 and integration with backend services via OData and REST.
  • Experience connecting CAP applications with SAP S/4HANA, SAP HANA Cloud, and third-party systems using destinations and APIs.
  • Working knowledge of SAP Integration Suite and Event Mesh; Groovy scripting experience for complex integration scenarios.
  • Hands-on experience with CI/CD tooling (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, or SAP CI/CD services).
  • Familiarity with cloud-native development concepts (12-factor apps, configuration via environment, stateless services, scaling patterns). Additional skills:
  • Strong understanding of microservices architecture and API design (REST/OData).
  • Proficiency with Git-based workflows and version control practices.
  • Strong problem-solving, debugging, and root-cause analysis skills.
  • Ability to proactively monitor and improve system performance and operational stability.
