Urgent requirement of Mesh & Wi. Fi Device Testing Engineer

- Australia Requirements Key Responsibilities Device & Mesh Testing
- Perform interoperability qualification and validation testing between Telstra Wi. Fi Boosters and Telstra Smart Modems
- Execute end-to-end mesh testing on Telstra Smart Modems, ensuring compliance with expected behaviour and industry standards.
- Conduct sanity, regression, and stability testing on firmware upgrades and downgrades for boosters and gateways.
- Perform manual Wi. Fi performance testing, including coverage, throughput, roaming behaviour, failover, reconnection, and overall mesh effectiveness.
- Execute booster onboarding and connectivity testing using Ethernet and WPS, validating 2.4GHz / 5GHz behaviour, channel changes, and client connectivity. Test Execution & Defect Management
- Capture logs, record results, and clearly document findings during test execution.
- Raise defects and observations through standard tracking and reporting processes using JIRA, ensuring all supporting logs, evidence, and reproduction steps are included.
- Support root cause analysis activities by providing clear test data and validating fixes. Collaboration & Vendor Engagement
- Work closely with product leads, engineering teams, and vendors to plan, execute, and validate test activities.
- Generate clear and concise test reports and updates for wider stakeholder consumption.
- Actively participate in Agile ceremonies and ways of working. Lab & Site Activities
- Maintain a strong on-site presence at the 400 George Street lab, with flexibility to work from home, on certain days as required.
- Support lab and colocation activities involving modems, smart boosters, and mesh equipment. Skills Required: Key Technical Knowledge
- WIFI, Booster, Mesh experience desired but not mandatory.
- Understanding of Wi. Fi and networking fundamentals, including channels, bands, backhaul vs fronthaul, client association, MAC, BSSID, and mesh concepts.
- Experience with consumer networking devices, including gateways, boosters, and home network setups.
- Working knowledge of Windows and Ubuntu/Linux command-line environments.
- Ability to understand logs and expected device behaviour during testing. Key Skills & Attributes
- Clear and structured note-taking and test documentation skills.
- Methodical and repeatable testing approach with strong attention to detail.
- Ability to quickly learn new technologies and contribute effectively in complex environments.
- Curious mindset with a strong tendency to ask why and understand underlying behaviour.
- Strong collaboration skills; comfortable working with cross-functional teams and multiple SMEs.
- Proactive, reliable, and adaptable, with a willingness to support ad-hoc and out-of-hours testing when required. Tools & Technologies

- Proprietary in-house monitoring and mesh diagnostic tools

- Firmware testing and validation environments Nice to Have
- Basic scripting experience (e.g. Python, Bash).
- Exposure to test case automation or scripting-based validation.
