Job Summary
This position is responsible for overseeing the finance and accounting operations within a property development group. The role focuses on ensuring accurate financial reporting, project-level cost control, and supporting management in decision-making through budgeting, forecasting, and project performance analysis.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee full set of accounts and ensure timely month-end and year-end closing activities Prepare management accounts, financial reports, and detailed variance analysis for ongoing projects Monitor project costing, work-in-progress (WIP), and development expenditure tracking across multiple projects Support revenue recognition for development projects using Percentage of Completion (POC) / MFRS 15 standards Drive annual budgeting and periodic forecasting for project and group-level performance Manage cash flow planning, liquidity position, and banking facilities utilization Coordinate with external auditors, tax consultants, and financial institutions Lead, supervise, and develop the finance team to ensure operational efficiency Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards (MFRS), internal controls, and group reporting requirements Requirements Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting / Finance or professional qualification (ACCA / CPA / CIMA or equivalent) 5–8 years of relevant finance experience, preferably within property development, construction, real estate, or infrastructure industries Strong understanding of MFRS reporting standards, particularly MFRS 15 revenue recognition Hands-on experience in project accounting, WIP monitoring, and Percentage of Completion (POC) accounting Strong analytical capability with solid business partnering exposure Experience with ERP systems (SAP or similar) will be an added advantage Proven leadership experience in managing a small to mid-size finance team
