Group Financial Controller (PLC)

1. Group Consolidation Lead the preparation and consolidation of group financial statements, ensuring full compliance with IFRS and relevant local accounting standards. Oversee quarterly and annual closing activities across multiple subsidiaries and business entities. Perform variance analysis against budgets and forecasts, providing clear financial insights to management. Manage intercompany reconciliations, ensuring accurate elimination of intercompany transactions.
2. Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) Drive the group’s budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning processes, including support for M&A and corporate finance initiatives. Provide strategic financial insights through cost-benefit analyses, scenario modelling, and performance tracking. Monitor financial KPIs and recommend actions to address performance gaps.
3. Compliance & Reporting Ensure adherence to all statutory and regulatory reporting requirements across all operating jurisdictions. Prepare and present board-level financial reports, highlighting key risks and opportunities. Coordinate and manage external audit processes to ensure timely completion.
4. Team Leadership Lead and mentor a team of finance professionals, fostering skill development and performance excellence. Promote a culture of continuous improvement within the finance function.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field. Professional qualification (ACCA, ACA, CPA, or equivalent) is highly preferred. Experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience in finance, with at least 3-5 years in a senior financial management or controller role. Proven experience in group financial consolidation, particularly in a multi-entity environment.

Demonstrable experience with ERP and financial systems implementation. Familiarity with systems like SAP, Oracle, or Microsoft Dynamics is an advantage. Previous experience with system upgrades and process automation is desirable. Technical Skills: Advanced Excel skills and financial modelling expertise. Strong knowledge of accounting standards (IFRS, local GAAP) and financial reporting requirements.
