Project Manager - Commercial Strategy & Transformation
Job description
We are seeking a Commercial Strategy & Transformation Project Manager to support high-impact strategic initiatives across Japan. This role combines project management, business transformation, and commercial strategy, partnering with cross-functional teams to drive operational improvements, launch new initiatives, and deliver successful transformation programs.
This position offers flexibility depending on experience: Junior candidates with strong project coordination or PMO experience are encouraged to apply, even without prior healthcare or pharmaceutical experience. Senior candidates are expected to have project management experience within the pharmaceutical industry, particularly supporting commercial or medical functions.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and coordinate strategic business transformation projects from planning through execution. Support commercial strategy initiatives that improve operational effectiveness and business performance. Develop project plans, monitor timelines, risks, budgets, and key deliverables. Build business cases and support the development of new services and strategic initiatives.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including commercial, medical, operations, finance, and business development. Conduct market and business analysis to support strategic decision-making. Manage internal and external stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery. Present project updates and recommendations to senior leadership.
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across the organization.
Requirements
Required Bachelor's degree or above. Business-level English and Japanese. Experience in project management, PMO, consulting, business transformation, or cross-functional project coordination. Strong organizational, stakeholder management, and communication skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
For Junior Candidates PMO or project coordination experience in a business environment or consulting function. Healthcare or pharmaceutical experience is not required. For Senior Candidates Experience leading strategic projects within the pharmaceutical industry. Background supporting commercial, medical affairs, commercial excellence, business transformation, or consulting functions is highly preferred.
Preferred Experience working in consulting or professional services. Knowledge of project management methodologies. Experience supporting business transformation, organizational change, or commercial strategy initiatives. Experience working in global or matrix organizations.
