Chewelah Veterinary Clinic is seeking a Veterinary Assistant to join our team and help create exceptional experiences for clients and patients during exams and outpatient visits.
We are seeking an outgoing veterinary assistant who thrives in client engagement, schedule coordination, and multitasking. In this position, you will play a critical role in supporting efficient hospital operations, creating positive client experiences, and ensuring patients receive compassionate, high-quality care. Success in this role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, a proactive mindset, and the ability to anticipate the needs of both the veterinary team and clients throughout the patient visit.
Responsibilities include:
- Supporting efficient exam room and outpatient workflow to ensure exceptional patient and client care
- Maintaining accurate, thorough medical records and treatment documentation
- Supporting veterinarians during outpatient procedures and treatments while providing high-quality patient care
- Building positive relationships with clients through education, communication, and attentive service
Schedule and compensation:

Compensation: $17.13-18.00 per hour, for each hour worked

This is a full**-time** position, with schedule flexibility needed between Monday-Friday and rotating Saturdays required.

On call rotation required approximately once per week

On-call shifts are compensated at $25/hr

Shifts typically occur ~5pm-midnight, though hours may change based on hospital need

Minimum qualifications and skill set:

1+ years of veterinary assistant, animal care, kennel, or related role preferred

Proficiency in the following skills:
-
Safe animal handling and restraint skills for dogs and cats of varying sizes and temperaments.** Large animal experience highly desired!**

Knowledge of basic veterinary terminology and patient care principles

Ability to maintain accurate medical records and treatment documentation

Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment

Dependable attendance and strong work ethic

Physical ability to stand, bend, lift, and restrain patients safely throughout the workday
