Semi-Skilled Diesel Mechanic

Our client is seeking an Semi-Skilled Diesel Mechanic to join the Markman, Port Elizabeth team,

• Assist in servicing and repairing diesel engines on trucks and trailers
• Perform routine maintenance such as oil changes, filter replacements, lubrication, and brake inspections.
• Assist with engine overhauls, gearbox repairs, clutch replacements, and differential work.
• Conduct fault finding under supervision using diagnostic tools and equipment.
• Inspect vehicles and equipment to identify mechanical and electrical issues
• Replace worn or damaged parts including belts, hoses, brake components, and batteries
• Maintain accurate job cards and maintenance records.
• Ensure compliance with Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) standards
• Keep work area clean and organized according to company policies.
• Provide breakdown assistance when required.

Requirements

• Grade 12
• N2/N3 qualification in Diesel Mechanics (advantageous).
• 2–4 years’ experience in a diesel workshop or fleet environment (horse & trailer)
• Basic knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, and auto electrical systems.
• Code 14 driver’s license (preferred).
