Job Description Position Summary Within the Education Abroad (EA) unit, this role offers the rewarding opportunity to engage with motivated students who seek to make the world their classroom. This position is responsible for providing student support in the form of individual and group advising through the application, pre-departure, experience abroad, and return of individual students and groups.
Through presentations, virtual and in-person advising, emails, and outreach events, the advisor will serve as the primary contact for students throughout their international education journey. This position will also include assigned team projects, attend ance at regular EA and advising team meetings, and complet ion of other administrative duties based on the needs of the office.
Department Name Education Abroad, International Programs Anticipated Start Date 09/01/2026 Anticipated Weekly Hours 20-30 Required Job Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree Demonstrated interest and engagement and international education Experience working in an office setting Strong written, verbal and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact with a wide range of people at all levels of an organization, including culturally diverse communities Preferred Job Qualifications Experience working in an education abroad office setting Essential Duties Serve as the EA advisor for two to three blocks of open advising per week and h old six hours of appointment advising (10-12 advising appointments per week) Provide administrative support and s erve as the campus advisor for a specific region al portfolio and general education abroad 101 advising Attend and participate in regular advising team meetings, lead classroom and group presentations, education abroad fair, tabling and other events to educate the CSU campus on international opportunities Co-c oordinate regional information sessions and pre-departure orientation sessions for students, communicate with students abroad, and assists students upon return with questions related to program evaluation, credit transfer, etc.
Communicate individually with students, staff, and parents , in-person , virtual ly, via email , and over the phone , to assess appropriate program placements, financial responsibilities, and CSU administrative policies on education abroad Manage applications and support students through the education abroad process using the Terra Dotta Application Management system Serve as an alternate for GAC front desk coverage, as needed Assist with other projects/duties as assigned Salary Range 24.
