Watchmaker (Horologist) - (recruiting from Malta or abroad)

We are representing a prestigious luxury retail and service group in Malta, specialising in the curation, maintenance, and after-sales servicing of internationally renowned Swiss watch maisons. We are seeking a highly skilled Watchmaker to join our dedicated atelier team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the diagnosis, repair, restoration, and meticulous servicing of high-end mechanical timepieces, ensuring every watch leaving the workshop meets the uncompromising standards of Swiss horology excellence.

This role demands technical mastery, patience, precision, and a deep respect for craftsmanship, working with timepieces that represent heritage, innovation, and artistry.

Key Responsibilities

Perform complete diagnostics, servicing, and repair of mechanical and automatic luxury watches Disassemble, clean, repair, and reassemble complex watch movements with precision Conduct quality control testing including timing accuracy, water resistance, and functional verification Restore vintage and contemporary timepieces in line with manufacturer specifications Maintain detailed service records and technical documentation for each watch Ensure compliance with brand servicing protocols and workshop standards Collaborate with front-of-house teams to communicate technical assessments clearly Uphold the highest standards of workshop cleanliness, organisation, and tool maintenance Support continuous improvement of workshop processes and technical capability Requirements The ideal candidate will have: Proven experience as a Watchmaker, Horologist, or Watch Technician in a luxury or high-precision environment Strong understanding of mechanical and automatic movements (Swiss luxury brands preferred) Excellent manual dexterity and exceptional attention to microscopic detail Ability to work independently and manage complex technical tasks Strong discipline, patience, and commitment to craftsmanship excellence Good communication skills in English (written and spoken) Team-oriented mindset with a professional and discreet attitude Flexibility to adapt to evolving workshop priorities and deadlines Additional advantages: Experience with high-end Swiss brands such as Rolex, Patek Philippe, or Audemars Piguet Prior experience in authorised service centres or luxury boutiques Knowledge of chronographs, tourbillons, or grand complications Licenses & Qualifications Diploma or certification in Watchmaking, Horology, or Micro-Mechanical Engineering (preferred) Formal training from a recognised horological school (e.
