Xylem is looking for a Traveling Field Service Technician located near Memphis, TN, the Carterville/Carbondale, IL and Evansville, IN areas. This position services our water treatment equipment at customer sites throughout the United States.
What your day will look like as a Traveling Field Service Technician The Field Service Technician will be responsible for the installation, service, troubleshooting, and maintenance of our water purification equipment, utilizing a company service vehicle and air travel. Equipment-specific training will be provided. We are looking for candidates with any of the following qualifications: Diesel mechanic experience Experience operating heavy equipment, including forklifts, telehandlers, or skid steers Electrical experience working with 460V & 230V systems, Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs), and/or PLCs Previous technical, mechanical, industrial maintenance, or plumbing experience is also encouraged This position requires frequent work outdoors in varying weather conditions and involves regular manual labor in industrial environments that are not always climate controlled.
This position also requires extensive travel throughout the United States, with approximately 90% travel, typically Monday through Friday.

Position Requirements for Traveling Field Service Technicians High School diploma or equivalent 2+ years of technical experience preferred; industrial maintenance, diesel mechanics, electrical, equipment operation, commercial process water, or related field experience is a plus Experience with Microsoft Office and the ability to utilize smart devices Ability to work in a high customer-facing position Ability to identify and remedy potential safety concerns Ability to work outdoors and perform physically demanding work on a regular basis Ability to pass a background check, drug screen, MVR, and DOT physical A valid driver's license with a clean driving record TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS: Approximately 90% travel throughout the United States.
The estimated salary range for this position is $28 to $34/hr. Starting pay is dependent on multiple factors, such as skills, experience, and work location, and is not typically at the top of the range.
