Junior Sous Chef | Luxury Game Reserve | Eastern Cape Kendrick Recruitment is currently seeking a motivated and passionate Junior Sous Chef for a luxury game reserve based in the Eastern Cape. This is an excellent opportunity for a culinary professional looking to grow within a five-star safari environment while developing their skills under the guidance of an experienced Executive Chef team.

The successful candidate will be a hands-on team player who is eager to learn, confident in the kitchen, and committed to maintaining exceptional food standards within a remote luxury setting. Package: Live-in position Salary: R18,000 Key Responsibilities: Assist with the preparation and service of high-quality dishes Support the Sous Chef and Executive Chef with daily kitchen operations Ensure consistent food presentation in line with property standards Maintain cleanliness, hygiene, and food safety standards at all times Assist with stock control, receiving, and ingredient rotation Support menu preparation and daily specials where required Ensure dietary requirements and guest preferences are followed accurately Assist with training and guiding junior kitchen staff Maintain smooth and efficient kitchen operations during service Support leadership responsibilities when required Requirements: Previous experience within a professional kitchen, preferably in a lodge or five-star hospitality environment Strong basic culinary skills with a willingness to learn and develop further Ability to work well under pressure within a remote environment Good communication and teamwork abilities Understanding of kitchen hygiene and food safety standards Passion for hospitality and guest satisfaction Personal Attributes: Eager to learn and develop professionally Positive and hardworking attitude Strong team player with good interpersonal skills Reliable, organised, and detail-oriented Calm and adaptable within a fast-paced kitchen environment This is a fantastic opportunity for an aspiring chef to take the next step in their career within a luxury safari setting while gaining valuable experience in a high-end, guest-focused kitchen.
