OVERVIEW

Merrick & Company is seeking a full time Electrical I&C Engineer for our Energy, Manufacturing & Bioprocessing department to join our team in our Chattanooga, TN, office. This business unit supports several market sectors including but not limited to industrial food & beverage, refining, power, and advanced biofuels markets.

This full-Time position will be eligible for a hybrid work schedule and relocation will be considered Salary range for this position is $105,000 to $135,000 depending on experience.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

Provide I&C engineering input in a dynamic multi-discipline environment engineering state-of-the-art instrumentation and control systems, and retrofits and upgrades to existing systems. Interface with clients, project management, procurement professionals, and other engineering disciplines in matters dealing with control systems.

Develop I&C basis of design and scope of work documents. Identify design milestones and preparing labor-hour estimates for project proposals. Develop specifications and datasheets for instrumentation and control systems. Ensure technical accuracy and conformance to project design criteria of engineered work products. Ensure appropriate procedures, design guidelines, and design tools are utilized on projects.

Develop innovative project concepts and solutions for advanced technology projects. Assists with client, customer or regulatory contacts and communication pertaining to specific assignments or meetings. Travel to domestic client project sites to support projects and assist with marketing Merrick’s capabilities. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering from an ABET accredited institution required.

Electrical or Controls Engineering is preferred. Client projects for this position require U.S. Citizenship. Minimum of eight (8) years of I&C design experience in industrial processing, power generation, refining, utilities and/or related industries. Experience directing I&C Work including, instrument sizing, datasheets, specifications, PLC/DCS architecture, PLC/DCS configuration, instrumentation wiring, instrument bus networks, wiring diagrams, panel layouts, HMI configuration, loop diagrams, logic diagrams, and control narratives.

Familiarity with industrial power document development such as electrical one-line diagrams, power and control schematics, hazardous area classification, electrical equipment specifications, power and MCC panel layouts. Proficient knowledge of industry codes and standards (API, ISA, NFPA/NEC, IEEE, ANSI, NEMA) DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS Professional Engineering License.
