JOB OVERVIEW Profession: Physician Specialty: Cardiology (General & Interventional) Job Type: Locum Tenens Location: Fort Smith, AR 72903 Service Setting: Inpatient Coverage Type: Call Only Coverage Period: ASAP – Dec 31, 2027 Call Schedule: Interventional: Mon-Sun (Days) or Mon – Thurs (Nights) General: 7 on, 7 off (Days) Call Type: Beeper Call Response Time: 20 mins (General); 30 mins (STEMIs) Reason for Coverage: Supplemental Support Staff: 2-3 APPs Travel, Lodging, and Malpractice Insurance: Covered by Agency PATIENT INFORMATION Average Daily Volume: 30-40 patients/day Rounding: Unassigned Patients Case Mix: Cardiology, Interventional FACILITY INFORMATION EMR System: Epic No of Beds: 203 Trauma Level: III PRIVILEGES & COMPLIANCE Hospital Privileges Required: No Temporary Privileges Available: No JOB REQUIREMENTS Board: BC (General) and BE (Interventional) Licenses:AR Certifications: ACLS Duties & Responsibilities Provide inpatient cardiology consultations, rounding and management for hospitalized patients.
Perform diagnostic and interventional cardiology procedures as required. Manage in-house call for cardiology emergencies, including acute coronary syndromes. Interpret and read echocardiograms. Perform interventional cardiology procedures as needed. Respond to STEMI calls within 30 minutes and other calls within 20 minutes.
Collaborate with team to cover rotating shifts including days, weekends, and nights.
