Job description
· Serve as the focal point for Instrument Commissioning at construction site.
- Responsible for schedule, control and reporting of Instrument Pre-commissioning Activities, which includes SAT, Loop check, Dry function test, Setting-up temporary ICSS HMI (where necessary), Arrangement of temporary power supply (where necessary), Arrangement of radios/wi-fi with their infrastructure, Arrangement of VM e-Loop (where applicable) and so on.
- Facilitate provision of Loop package and Function test package.
- Take ownership to close all punches for Instrument pre-commissioning and commissioning activities, with coordinating with the related persons.
- Coordinate, Schedule and Plan OEM / Vendor specialist visits to site for pre-commissioning, trouble shooting, commissioning, with coordinating with Instrument Field engineers.
- Review and confirm site ITP/ITR and procedures for Instrument Pre-commissioning activities, with coordinating with Instrument Field engineers and Instrument QC lead.
- Review and confirm Instrument pre-commissioning and commissioning man powers and the necessary tools/facilities supplied by Instrument sub-contractor, with coordinating with Instrument Construction section manager
- Support coordination with instrument sub-contractor in the aspect of pre-commissioning and commissioning work forces / tools.
- Responsible for setting up procedure for energization of instrument equipment, with coordinating with the concerned persons, including Instrument field engineers, Client, and so on.
- Where construction work and equipment energization for the activity are in the same area/room (SIMOPS, SIMultaneous OPerationS), to set-up the proper rule (soft barricades and so on) with coordinating HSE/construction/commissioning team.
- Responsible for field works of instrument activities during equipment commissioning and plant start-up, with coordinating with Instrument field engineers, which includes Field instruments’ line-up, liquid filling of DP LT wet leg, leak check of instruments before gas-in (where applicable), F&G detectors verification before gas-in (where applicable), Custody metering system validation (where applicable), CEMS initial set-up by isokinetic sampling(where applicable), Analyzers initial set-up/validation/calibration, Support of equipment commissioning such as mechanical run, Dry-out of Furnaces, and so on.
- Coordinate with Instrument / Packaged equipment Field engineers for resolving troubles, preparing FS (Field change sheet), replacing the malfunctioned materials, closing instrument punches related to Pre-comm./Comm., and so on, by providing initial check results of field troubles, necessary field work forces/tools for field trouble shooting, mark-up drawings for corrections found during testing and so on.
- Take ownership for meeting project schedule/milestones.
- Track and expedite construction and QC activities for achieving Instrument pre commissioning schedule. Where necessary, take initiative to involve the related managers (CM, QCM, EM, Commissioning Manager).
- Monitor construction and QC activities using CMS (Construction Management System) and VM Completion (Name of JGC plant turn-over system).
- Optimize pre-requisites of Loop check with negotiating with Client, where necessary activities for achieving Instrument pre-commissioning schedule.
- Take ownership for completing the activity within the project schedule.
Requirements
To have work experiences at construction site or deep knowledges of Instrument documents/drawings in one or more categories below.
- Instrument construction design
- Various field instruments and instrument valves
- ICSS / MMS
- Analyzers
- Metering Systems
- Instrumentations for packaged equipment
- Strong understanding of project execution workflows and milestone tracking.
- Commitment to provide utmost efforts for achieving schedule/milestone
- Ability to motivate and align team efforts toward target achievement.
- Ability to identify situation/facts of troubles quickly and set the proper actions, including coordination with Vendor.
- Skilled in preparing and reviewing technical documentation and correspondence.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Willingness to work at project construction site or module yard at abroad continuously.
- Support instrument engineering at home office, where site assignment is not available.
