Recruit. Net International Ltd specialises in Healthcare recruitment for Domestic and Overseas candidates for Hospitals, Nursing Homes, Home care and Community care. We are hiring a Healthcare Assistant to a leading Nursing home in Kildare ,. Ireland.
Responsibilities
Assist residents with personal care activities, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and maintaining personal hygiene while preserving dignity and privacy. Provide compassionate emotional support, companionship, and person-centred care to enhance residents' overall well-being and quality of life. Support residents with mobility, positioning, and safe transfers using appropriate moving and handling techniques.
Encourage independence by assisting residents with daily living activities and promoting choice in a safe, comfortable, and homely environment. Assist residents during mealtimes, supporting hydration and nutrition while monitoring dietary requirements and reporting any concerns. Work collaboratively with nurses and the multidisciplinary team to deliver individualised care in accordance with personalised care plans.
Observe, record, and accurately report residents' care, wellbeing, and any changes in their physical or emotional condition to the appropriate healthcare professional. Maintain a clean, safe, and respectful environment while adhering to infection prevention, health and safety, and safeguarding policies. Build positive relationships with residents, families, and colleagues through effective communication and professional teamwork.
Ensure all care is delivered in accordance with organisational policies, regulatory standards, and best practices for residential care.
Requirements
Previous experience as a Healthcare Assistant or in a similar care role is desirable; however, applications from candidates with a genuine passion for a career in healthcare are also encouraged. Compassionate, caring, and empathetic approach with a strong commitment to delivering person-centred care. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with residents, families, and colleagues.
Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team in a fast-paced care environment. Flexible and adaptable to work a variety of shifts, including weekends, public holidays, and rotational rosters as required. Good understanding of infection prevention and control practices, health and safety regulations, and safeguarding principles.
Relevant healthcare qualifications or certifications (such as QQI/FETAC Level 5 in Healthcare Support or equivalent) are desirable but not essential. Strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to prioritise tasks and maintain accurate care records. A professional, reliable, and respectful attitude with a commitment to maintaining residents' dignity, privacy, and independence.
Willingness to participate in ongoing training and continuous professional development to enhance knowledge and skills.
