Job Title – Senior Executive / Assistant Manager – Merchandising (D2C) Location – Howrah Industry – Apparel / Kids Wear / Fashion Retail Experience Required – 5+ Years (preferably in apparel/kids wear with D2C merchandising exposure) Salary – Up to 10 LPA Job Summary The Senior Executive / Assistant Manager – Merchandising (D2C) plays a pivotal role in driving the end-to-end merchandising strategy for the Direct-to-Consumer channel of a leading kids wear brand.
This position is responsible for shaping product assortments, optimizing vendor partnerships, and executing data-driven merchandising plans that align with business growth objectives. The role demands a deep understanding of market trends, consumer behavior, and retail dynamics, with a focus on enhancing sell-through, margin performance, and category profitability.
The ideal candidate will be a proactive problem-solver with strong analytical skills, cross-functional collaboration experience, and a proven track record in apparel merchandising within the D2C space.
Key Responsibilities
Support the development and execution of annual buying plans aligned with business volume and value targets. Coordinate with vendors and suppliers to ensure timely sourcing, quality compliance, and cost-effective procurement. Assist in supplier evaluation, performance tracking, and continuous improvement initiatives. Contribute to the creation of seasonal product ranges based on market insights, trend analysis, and consumer demand.
Implement and monitor merchandising strategies tailored for D2C channels to maximize sales and profitability. Conduct competitor benchmarking, market research, and trend forecasting to inform product planning. Maintain a balanced and optimized assortment mix across pricing tiers, product quality, and style variety.
Requirements
Minimum 5 years of experience in merchandising within apparel or fashion retail. Prior experience in kids wear or D2C merchandising is preferred. Proven experience in vendor management, sourcing coordination, and assortment planning. Strong understanding of pricing strategy, inventory turnover, and sell-through analysis.
Proficiency in data analysis, forecasting tools, and retail planning systems.
Education
Graduate in Fashion / Apparel / Textile Design Fashion Management or MBA (Retail/Fashion) preferred
