Dec 21 – Dec 31, 2026 (8a-5p and night call; 24-hour call Dec 26-27) PATIENT INFORMATION Patient Demographics: Adult Average Daily Volume: 1-2 surgical cases per day Admissions: Yes Rounding: Included Case Mix: CABG, EVH, open valvular surgery, thoracic procedures (thoracotomy, lobectomy) FACILITY INFORMATION Trauma Level: Level 2 PRIVILEGES & COMPLIANCE Hospital Privileges Required: Yes REQUIRED PROCEDURES CABG EVH Open valvular surgery Thoracotomy Lobectomy JOB REQUIREMENTS Board: Board Certified PA-C Licenses: Active Iowa License (or eligible to obtain; processing time 4-6 weeks) Certifications: ACLS, BLS Experience: Minimum 2 years of CT Surgery experience Other Qualifications: Clean malpractice/background; NPDB Self-Query Report within 30 days Duties & Responsibilities Assist in cardiothoracic surgical procedures, including CABG, EVH, open valvular surgery, thoracotomy, and lobectomy Provide daily first-assist coverage in the operating room and manage inpatient care (ICU/floor) Participate in weekday night call and weekend 24-hour call for cardiothoracic surgery emergencies Manage preoperative and postoperative patient evaluations and rounding Collaborate with attending surgeons, nurses, and other team members to ensure comprehensive patient care
