Job description
The Tailor is responsible for producing, altering, repairing, and finishing garments to meet company quality standards and customer requirements. The role involves operating industrial sewing machines, interpreting garment specifications, performing alterations with precision, and ensuring all finished products meet production and quality expectations.
The Tailor contributes to efficient production while maintaining a safe, organized, and productive work environment. Location: Jeddah, Saudi Arabia Key Responsibilities Perform garment stitching, alterations, repairs, and finishing according to production specifications and quality standards. Operate industrial sewing machines and other tailoring equipment safely and efficiently.
Read and interpret patterns, measurements, and garment specifications accurately. Measure, mark, cut, and assemble fabric pieces with precision. Inspect finished garments to ensure high-quality workmanship and compliance with company standards. Repair defects and perform necessary adjustments before garments are released for final inspection.
Maintain sewing machines and report any equipment malfunctions to the Maintenance team. Ensure proper handling and storage of fabrics, threads, trims, and other materials. Meet daily production targets while maintaining quality and minimizing material waste. Follow standard operating procedures and quality control requirements throughout the production process.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workstation. Comply with company policies, occupational health and safety regulations, and manufacturing procedures. Support team members and supervisors to ensure smooth production operations. Perform any other duties assigned by the Production Supervisor.
Qualifications
& Requirements High School Diploma or equivalent; vocational training or certification in Tailoring or Garment Manufacturing is preferred. Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Tailor in a garment manufacturing factory, textile company, or alteration workshop. Proficiency in operating industrial sewing machines and tailoring equipment.
Strong knowledge of garment construction, stitching techniques, fabric types, and alterations. Ability to read measurements, patterns, and production specifications accurately. Excellent hand-eye coordination and attention to detail. Ability to work efficiently under production deadlines while maintaining high-quality standards.
Good communication and teamwork skills. Physically able to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks. Basic knowledge of workplace health and safety practices.
