Responsibilities
Due to our growing business needs, we are actively seeking a Legal Counsel to join our Legal Team. The main responsibilities for this role will include: Drafting, reviewing and commenting on various types of contracts and legal documentations relating to loan products, business agreements and general commercial matters Advising on ad hoc projects, business and corporate initiatives from a legal risk perspective Providing legal support to various functions of the Bank and its money lender affiliate, guidance on corporate governance and the development of internal policies and procedures Drafting, commenting on and revising various policies for compliance purpose as required Advising and monitoring intra-group related party transactions Managing external counsel in various contentious and non-contentious matters Handling corporate secretarial matters including but not limited to arrangement and management of Board and Committee meetings Engaging with internal business units and control units within the Bank and its money lender affiliate, as well as collaborating with the relevant personnel at the group level to identify and manage legal and regulatory risks Requirements Qualified Hong Kong solicitor with 2 to 8 years' PQE with strong experience in corporate financing and banking and finance areas.
Experienced lawyers looking for retooling are also welcome. Prior experience in insurance and SFO related matters is highly preferred Practical experience in cross-border financing transactions are highly preferred Sound presentation skills, and the ability to engage senior management and other internal stakeholders Commercial awareness and strong interest in the banking and fintech sectors Excellent problem-solving and analytical thinking skills Strong sense of ownership and responsibility Proactive and solutions-oriented attitude to work Ability to work independently under pressure at fast pace Excellent communication in written and spoken English and Chinese (both Cantonese and Mandarin) What We Can Offer Award winning legal team and legal and compliance head with great culture A stable and rewarding work environment Guidance from seasoned Head of Legal and Compliance with strong technical legal skills and rich industry experience Exposure to a wide variety of business matters in a quickly developing fintech / digital banking sector Personal information collected is strictly for recruitment purpose only.
