Director of Data Center Development

Our client is a rapidly growing developer of hyperscale, AI, cloud, and mission-critical infrastructure seeking a Director of Data Center Development to lead site selection, land acquisition, utility coordination, and campus development initiatives throughout North America.

Responsibilities

• Identify and evaluate new data center development opportunities.
• Lead site selection efforts based on power availability, fiber connectivity, land characteristics, incentives, and customer demand.
• Manage land acquisition, due diligence, entitlement, and permitting activities.
• Coordinate utility power procurement and infrastructure planning.
• Develop relationships with hyperscale, colocation, AI, and cloud customers.
• Lead negotiations involving municipalities, utility providers, landowners, and economic development agencies.
• Support customer proposals, RFP responses, and development agreements.
• Work closely with executive leadership, engineering, construction, and operations teams.

• Work closely with executive leadership, engineering, construction, and operations teams. Preferred Experience:
• Data center, mission-critical, infrastructure, industrial, or power development experience.
• Experience supporting AWS, Google, Meta, Microsoft, Oracle, QTS, Vantage, Aligned, Compass, CyrusOne, or similar projects.
• Strong understanding of utility power strategy, site selection, and large-scale infrastructure development.
