Job description
Summary: This role is responsible for overseeing daily farm operations and coordinating farm laborers to ensure crops and livestock are managed efficiently and in compliance with established standards. Ideal for candidates with 0–2 years of agricultural experience, this position offers a hands-on opportunity to develop leadership and operational skills under the guidance of a farm manager.
The individual will play a key role in maintaining productivity, safety, and record-keeping, contributing directly to the farm’s success and sustainability. This is a foundational leadership role that supports the smooth execution of production plans and fosters a safe, organized work environment.
Responsibilities
Assign daily tasks to farm laborers and monitor completion to meet production targets Supervise planting, weeding, spraying, irrigation, and harvesting activities to ensure adherence to farm procedures Monitor livestock health, identify early signs of issues, and report concerns to the farm manager Enforce health, safety, and biosecurity protocols across all farm operations Maintain accurate daily records of labor hours, input usage, yield data, and livestock counts Ensure proper use, cleaning, and storage of tools and equipment Coordinate input requests and track inventory levels for seeds, feed, fertilizers, and chemicals Train new farm workers on basic tasks and safe work practices Support the farm manager in planning weekly schedules and preparing simple progress reports
