Naval Mechanical Engineer (Shipbuilding / CNC Plasma Operations / Naval ) – Caribbean
Job description
We are looking for a new Naval Mechanical Engineer to support vessel construction, marine fabrication, and production operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing engineering drawings, developing CNC cutting programs, and assisting with fabrication and mechanical system integration to ensure efficient and high-quality shipbuilding operations.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare and review marine engineering and fabrication drawings using CAD software. Develop CNC plasma cutting programs using CAM software such as ProNest. Support fabrication, welding, and production teams throughout vessel construction. Optimize material usage, cutting efficiency, and production workflows. Maintain technical records, production reports, and engineering documentation.
Ensure compliance with safety standards, marine regulations, and quality requirements. Work Environment Shipyard or marine fabrication environment with exposure to heavy equipment and welding activities. Combination of office-based engineering tasks and on-site production support Requirements Degree or diploma in Marine, Mechanical, or Naval Engineering.
3–5 years of experience in shipbuilding, fabrication, or heavy industry. Knowledge of CNC plasma cutting systems and CAD/CAM software. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings. Strong problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.
