Summary: The IT Assistant Officer plays a critical role in supporting the organization’s technology infrastructure by ensuring smooth operation, timely resolution of technical issues, and effective user support. This position is responsible for maintaining hardware and software systems, managing user accounts, and providing frontline technical assistance to employees across departments.
The ideal candidate will be proactive, detail-oriented, and committed to delivering reliable IT services that enable productivity and operational continuity. By acting as a bridge between end-users and advanced IT teams, the IT Assistant Officer helps maintain a secure, efficient, and scalable technology environment.
Responsibilities
Provide first-level technical support to end-users for hardware, software, and network issues. Assist in the installation, configuration, and maintenance of computers, printers, and other IT equipment. Manage user accounts, permissions, and access rights across systems and applications. Troubleshoot and resolve common IT problems with minimal supervision.
Document incidents, solutions, and service requests in the IT service management system. Support the deployment and updating of software and security patches across the organization. Assist in the preparation and maintenance of IT inventory and asset records. Collaborate with senior IT staff on system upgrades, network maintenance, and security initiatives.
Promote IT best practices and user awareness through training and communication.
