Job description
The Senior Accountant is a key member of the Finance team and plays a critical role in maintaining the financial integrity of the organization. This position is highly technical and hands-on, with primary responsibility for month-end close, general ledger management, grants accounting, and financial compliance for a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC).
They will act as a team lead to Staff Accountants and Accounting Assistants (without direct supervisory responsibility), providing guidance, technical support, and review of work. This role requires advanced accounting expertise, exceptional Excel skills, deep familiarity with nonprofit and healthcare accounting, and a strong interest in process improvement and automation within a paper-heavy environment.
