Mō te tūranga | About the role Are you an Experienced TMP Planner, ready for something bigger? Fulton Hogan is looking for an experienced TMP Planner to join our Christchurch Traffic Management team. We’re after someone who brings solid, hands-on Temporary Traffic Management experience and can create practical, compliant plans that work well for crews, clients, and road users alike.

To be considered for this role, you’ll need proven experience preparing and gaining approval for Traffic Management Plans in New Zealand. This role is best suited to someone who already understands TMP planning in live operational environments. You’ll work closely with our operational leaders, STMS’s, and project teams to help plan and deliver traffic management solutions across a wide range of infrastructure, maintenance, and construction projects throughout Canterbury.

Ngā kawenga matua | Key responsibilities Develop high-quality TMPs and TTM drawings across civil construction, maintenance, and infrastructure projects. Work closely with operational teams, STMSs, project managers, and clients to create plans that are practical, efficient, and compliant.

Manage the end-to-end TMP approval process and maintain strong relationships with Road Controlling Authorities and key stakeholders. Review site requirements, risks, and work methodologies to develop effective traffic management solutions. Provide technical guidance to operational teams while maintaining accurate TMP documentation, records, and approvals.

Ensure all TMP documentation, records and approvals are accurately maintained. Support continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to a positive safety culture across the business. Kei te kimi mātou i tētahi e whai ana i ēnei pūkenga | We’re looking for someone with: Essential: Proven experience preparing, reviewing and gaining approval for Traffic Management Plans in New Zealand.

Strong understanding of the New Zealand Guide to Temporary Traffic Management (NZGTTM) and practical application in live operational environments. Demonstrated experience working alongside STMSs, traffic management crews and construction teams. Proficiency in Rapid. Plan. Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.

Strong planning, organisation and problem-solving capability. Highly desirable: Current NZTA/Waka Kotahi TMP Planner qualification and/or relevant NZQA unit standards. Experience across civil construction, road maintenance, utilities or infrastructure projects. Risk assessment and traffic management auditing experience.

Previous experience in a senior TMP planning or coordination role.
