EASTERN TITLE DIVISION Job Description: We are seeking a: detail-oriented residential and commercial underwriter responsible for delivering accurate title underwriting services, commitment and policy production, and exceptional customer support while protecting the interests of Old Republic Title and its customers. *This role is hybrid and candidates must be able to work in our Charlotte, NC office 3 days a week.
Daily Responsibilities may include: Prepare title commitments, title policies, endorsements, and prior policy lookups. Maintain proficiency in Ram. Quest and related policy production systems to ensure efficient communication and product delivery. Examine preliminary and final title opinions to determine insurability and identify title conditions affecting real property.
Review deeds, deeds of trust, mechanic’s liens, tax liens, judgments, probate records, surveys, plats, and other recorded documents. Assess ownership interests, legal descriptions, and matters affecting title. Provide exceptional customer service and maintain strong relationships with approved attorney customers. Collaborate with underwriting colleagues to evaluate complex risks and ensure compliance with underwriting authority and company guidelines.
Communicate underwriting concerns promptly to management. Support sales representatives in strengthening customer relationships. Participate in monthly North Carolina underwriting conference calls. Comply with all company policies, regulatory requirements, and required compliance training. Maintain dependable attendance and professionalism during business hours and company-related events.
Commercial Underwriting Responsibilities Coordinate commercial title searches and document recordings with attorneys and recording offices. Serve as a liaison among customers, attorneys, escrow agents, and lenders throughout commercial transactions. Partner with Commercial Agency Services, Escrow, National Commercial Services, and other departments as needed.
Underwrite and service commercial title insurance transactions throughout North Carolina and other approved jurisdictions. Coordinate title searches and document recordation with attorneys. Review, underwrite, and issue commercial title commitments, policies, and endorsements. #LI-MB1 #Title.
