Job description
Manage Dietary personnel. Prepares, serves and/or cooks food for patients, employees, residents and guests. Works closely with Registered Dietitian and Dietary Assistant to estimate food consumption and requirements to determine type and quantity of meats, vegetables, and other foods to prepare and serve. Orders food and supplies and maintain appropriate inventory.
Observes and performs methods of food preparation, cooking, and sizes of portions to ensure food is prepared in prescribed manner. Trains dietary staff. Maintain records of work assignments, schedules and hours worked of personnel. “Fills in”, as needed, in other positions in the department. Assists Registered Dietitian as needed.
Regularly review and update policies to ensure compliance.
