Established in 1986, Tenants Queensland represents the interests of all Queenslanders who rent their home, including people living in marginal tenures such as caravan parks and rooming accommodation.

The organisation provides specialist advisory services to renters, advocates on their behalf, and works to secure improvements to Queensland’s residential tenancy laws. Purpose of the position This role strengthens Tenants Queensland’s ability to use data for effective decision making. You will analyse client work and service data to improve targeting, effectiveness and service impact, with a clear focus on supporting renters to sustain their tenancies. This is a client side business intelligence role where your analysis will directly inform service design, resource allocation, performance monitoring and how Tenants Queensland communicates its impact to clients, funders and the broader community.

Key responsibilities

Review and improve data collection and analysis processes and systems to strengthen tenancy sustainability outcomes Interrogate data to answer organisational questions and provide clear recommendations to guide decisions Monitor and maintain client data collection activities to ensure efficiency and alignment with strategic and operational needs Support monitoring of data collection requirements across the organisation and partner relationships to ensure compliance Suggest and develop statistical models to support insight and forecasting Conduct and collate analysis for internal stakeholders, funders and external audiences Build dashboards and visualisations to understand performance, monitor KPIs and identify trends early Support the organisation to tell its story through evidence based insights Maintain oversight of data quality and identify failures or gaps in collection and governance Contribute to administrative tasks connected to the role and undertake other reasonable duties as required What you will bring Essential requirements Commitment to social justice principles Ability to organise and use data to proactively identify improvement opportunities, develop solution options and support issue resolution Ability to communicate complex and technical concepts clearly to non technical stakeholders Expertise in Power BI or similar business intelligence tools, and strong Excel capability Core capabilities Strong analytical and statistical skills, with the ability to extract insights and translate them into practical recommendations Understanding of data management and business intelligence activities, including reporting, visualisation and data governance principles High quality report writing skills and the ability to develop stakeholder appropriate communications for members, sector, government and the public Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team, managing multiple tasks with strong organisation and attention to detail High level computer literacy including confident use of client databases and Microsoft Office tools Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work respectfully with people from diverse cultural and socio economic backgrounds Desirable Tertiary qualification in information systems, business administration, computer science, mathematics or another relevant field Previous experience in a similar client side business intelligence role What Tenants Queensland offers Use your specialist skills to improve community impact and tenancy sustainability outcomes Generous salary packaging options to increase take home pay Employee Assistance Program for staff and immediate family Paid parental leave Office location in Spring Hill, Brisbane How to apply To apply, submit: A Curriculum Vitae, and A cover letter of no more than two pages addressing the requirements in the Position Description Send your application by email to: recruitment@tenantsqld.
