Job description

The Opportunity Join a dynamic and expanding Investment Advisory team as an Relationship Manager focused on serving our high-net-worth (HNW) and ultra-high-net-worth (UHNW) clientele, with a strong emphasis on the Mainland market. Leveraging your deep expertise in multi-asset investment solutions and client advisory, you will be instrumental in delivering tailored wealth strategies that meet the complex needs and aspirations of our sophisticated clients.

Key Responsibilities

Serve as a trusted investment advisor to HNW and UHNW clients, formulating bespoke investment strategies that align with their objectives, risk tolerance, and strategic asset allocation. Mainland China Client Focus: Develop, grow, and manage investment relationships specifically targeting, HK domestic and offshore Chinese UHNW individuals and families, understanding their unique wealth planning and investment requirements.

Cross-Border Collaboration: Proactively partner with Relationship Managers on investment idea generation, portfolio construction, proposal creation, and regular portfolio reviews. Client Engagement & Travel: Regularly travel to the Mainland (as required and compliant with regulations) to conduct joint client calls with Relationship Managers, build rapport, deepen relationships, and articulate the firm’s investment views directly to customers.

Multi-Asset Expertise: Deliver comprehensive advice and solutions across traditional asset classes (equities, fixed income, FX) as well as sophisticated alternative investments (e.g., alternative funds, private equity, hedge funds, structured products, and managed solutions). Market Acumen: Keep abreast of global financial markets, economic trends, and regulatory changes (especially those impacting cross-border wealth) to provide timely, insightful market updates and actionable investment recommendations to clients and internal partners.

Suitability & Governance: Drive strong investment governance, ensuring all advisory activities, solutions, and trade executions adhere strictly to regulatory requirements (e.g., SFC Code of Conduct) and internal suitability frameworks.

Who You Are

Minimum 5+ years of robust experience in an investment advisory role within a Private Bank, External Asset Manager (EAM), or comparable wealth management institution, with a proven track record of managing substantial HNW/UHNW portfolios. Market Focus: Demonstrated success and deep familiarity with serving Mainland Chinese HNW/UHNW clients, understanding their cultural context, regulatory landscape, and investment preferences.

Product Knowledge: Strong, in-depth knowledge of multi-asset investment strategies, including expertise in traditional asset classes and significant exposure to and understanding of alternative investment solutions.

Qualifications

A recognized university degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field. Professional designations such as CFA and/or CFP are highly preferred. Licensing: Must possess or be able to immediately obtain the necessary local regulatory licenses (e.g., SFC Type 1 and Type 4 licenses) to carry out regulated activities.

Communication: Exceptional interpersonal, presentation, and communication skills. Fluency in Mandarin is essential to navigate the Greater China market effectively. Mindset: Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills, a collaborative team player, and a high level of customer-centricity and professional integrity.
