We are looking for a Senior R&D Software Engineer (Modern C++ / Instrument Infrastructure) to join a newly formed team in Barcelona, building reusable infrastructure technology used by product teams worldwide.
Responsibilities
Design, develop and maintain high-performance Modern C++ software for hardware control, data acquisition and instrument platform capabilities. Collaborate with product architects on infrastructure requirements and system architecture for next-generation instrument platforms. Integrate hardware and software components, ensuring reliable, high-performance operation of complex instrument systems.
Debug and troubleshoot across the full stack, from register-level interfaces and drivers to application-level software. Collaborate with distributed engineering teams (including a US-based team) across the full development lifecycle.
Requirements
Strong experience with Modern C++, object-oriented programming and modern software architecture. Several years developing hardware control or hardware-adjacent software. Experience with PCIe and high-speed Ethernet, and understanding of driver/real-time processing architectures. Development experience in Linux and/or Windows environments.
Fluent English. What is offered Salary range: €65,000 – €90,000 gross/year. Stock options. Hybrid model (~2-3 days/week office), permanent contract.
