Stock Controller Full-time | Permanent Location: Cork City Centre An established multi-site retail business is seeking a highly organised and analytical Stock Controller to join its Head Office team. This position is responsible for maintaining the accuracy of stock records across multiple retail locations while supporting inventory control, sales analysis, and reporting activities.
The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring stock integrity through the effective use of an electronic stock management system, monitoring daily sales activity, investigating discrepancies, and supporting regular stock counts. This role requires exceptional attention to detail, strong numerical ability, and the confidence to work collaboratively with both retail and head office teams.
Key Responsibilities
Maintain accurate stock records across multiple retail locations. Monitor daily sales activity to identify unusual transactions and payment methods. Ensure stock is processed correctly through point-of-sale systems. Liaise with store teams to investigate and resolve stock discrepancies. Complete accurate data entry and maintain stock integrity.
Process stock adjustments, transfers, and movements accurately. Assist in the administration and management of weekly, monthly, and annual stock counts. Prepare regular stock and sales reports for senior management. Provide ongoing support to the finance team, leadership team, and retail operations. Undertake additional duties as required to support the effective operation of the business.
Candidate Profile The ideal candidate will possess: Strong organisational and administrative skills. Excellent numerical and analytical ability. A methodical approach with exceptional attention to detail. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to investigate discrepancies. The ability to work independently and collaboratively.
Confidence working in a fast-paced retail environment. Professional communication and interpersonal skills. Good computer literacy and experience using stock management systems. A proactive, flexible approach with a willingness to take ownership. Previous experience in stock control, inventory management, sales analysis, or a similar role would be advantageous.
