Employment Type: Full time Shift: Evening Shift Description: Position Purpose At Saint Francis Hospital and Medical Center , the Registered Nurse (RN) in the Main PACU provides post-operative care for patients recovering from complex surgeries performed in the Main OR of a Level 1 Trauma Center.

What You Will Do

Provide high-acuity care for patients recovering from trauma, cardiovascular, neurological, and other critical surgeries. Manage Phase 1 and 2 recovery, ensuring safe emergence from anesthesia, stabilization, and transfer readiness. Collaborate with anesthesiologists, surgeons, and care teams to deliver advanced interventions and uphold perioperative standards.

Minimum Qualifications

Graduation from an accredited nursing program with an Associate’s degree in Nursing is required. Valid RN license in Connecticut. The ideal candidate will have one or more years of PACU experience supporting inpatient surgical recovery. Preferred: Candidates with 2 (two) or more years of ICU-level nursing experience may be considered if they demonstrate expertise in ICU-level ventilated patient care, critical drips (e.

g., vasopressors, sedatives), and strong assessment skills. Note : Training is not available for candidates without this expertise BLS/CPR certification (AHA or ARC) ACLS and TNCC certification (support available post-hire) Proficiency in ASPAN standards and guidelines Position Highlights and Benefits Full-Time – 30 hours/week – Evening Shift Three 10-hour shifts, every 3rd weekend.

Variable start times, starting at 9:00 am, 10:00 am, and 11:00 am On-call requirements is based on unit needs. On-call may be required to support off shifts, such as Nights.
