  1. Purpose of the Role The Finance Manager / Senior Accountant will play a critical role in stabilizing the finance department of KR Consult during a transitional period. This is a temporary, time-sensitive consultancy position requiring a hands-on professional who can immediately take charge of financial management, ensure compliance, and provide strong leadership in a sensitive operational environment — including management of financial matters related to a company under receivership. 2.

Key Responsibilities

Oversee and manage all financial operations, ensuring accuracy and accountability. Supervise and mentor accounting staff, instilling financial discipline and transparency. Prepare and approve payments, ensuring compliance with company policies and internal controls. Address accounting backlogs, streamline records, and enhance reporting accuracy.

Coordinate with auditors and ensure proper documentation and audit readiness. Maintain tax compliance across all statutory obligations (PAYE, VAT, Withholding, NHIF, NSSF, etc.) Manage collections, bank reconciliations, and cash flow to sustain financial stability. Provide financial leadership during restructuring, including advising management on risk, liquidity, and cost optimization.

Handle sensitive financial matters related to ongoing receivership activities with utmost confidentiality. Develop and implement financial control systems and reporting procedures to ensure long-term stability. 3.

Qualifications

and Experience Fully qualified CPA (K) – registration with ICPAK preferred. 7+ years of progressive accounting and financial management experience, with at least part of that in a reputable audit or consultancy firm. Strong background in audit, financial reporting, and compliance. Experience working with organizations under restructuring or receivership is an added advantage.

Excellent command of accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, or Xero) and advanced Excel proficiency. 4. Key Competencies Unquestionable integrity and ethical standards – essential given the handling of large client funds. Strong analytical and leadership abilities with a hands-on management style. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to advise senior leadership. High attention to detail and precision in financial reporting. Ability to work under tight timelines and deliver accurate results. Proven capacity to maintain confidentiality in sensitive financial environments. 5. Nature and Duration of Engagement Consultancy-based, temporary engagement – immediate start required.
