Black & Grey HR is hiring for a leading textile and carpet manufacturing company with a strong reputation for craftsmanship and export excellence. Our client is looking for an experienced Senior Manager / Director – Furniture Design to lead furniture design initiatives, manage design teams, and drive product development from initial concepts through final production.
The ideal candidate should combine strong creative direction with technical knowledge of furniture materials, manufacturing processes, and international design standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with the Chief Creative Officer to develop furniture collections aligned with client briefs, aesthetics, and product requirements.
- Lead and guide senior designers across multiple furniture design and development projects.
- Review design concepts and provide creative direction to ensure consistency, functionality, and quality.
- Coordinate with product development, sampling, and production teams to translate designs into finished products.
- Ensure prototypes and samples accurately reflect approved specifications, materials, finishes, and design intent.
- Monitor projects from initial concept and development through sampling and final production.
- Resolve design and production challenges in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
- Mentor designers and support the development of a collaborative and high-performing design team.
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of professional experience in furniture design and product development.
- Experience designing furniture for established international brands, particularly within the US and other global markets.
- Proven experience leading, mentoring, and managing furniture design teams.
- Strong knowledge of timber varieties, wood finishes, metals, stone, and other furniture materials.
- Hands-on experience working with product development and production teams throughout the complete product lifecycle.
- Strong understanding of furniture construction, manufacturing processes, materials, and finishes.
- Excellent leadership, communication, creative direction, and cross-functional coordination skills.
