Job Details Description River. Stone Group, Inc. is a leading producer of construction aggregates in the Midwest. Part of producing construction aggregates is the need for a quality Fabrication Shop, which we have right here in Rock Island, IL. This position requires the ability to fabricate custom steel products from blueprint to finished product, and everything in between.
If you are a hands-on, mechanically minded individual who thrives in a fast-paced production environment, we want to hear from you. In this position you will truly be the jack-of-all, getting your hands dirty in any number of shop roles. Examples of such roles would be welder, CNC plasma cutting table operator, sand-blaster, project fabrication, assembly, and more.
You will be using a wide variety of equipment and tools, and the ability to be flexible and a team player will be vital. Skills and experience in welding, blueprint reading/comprehension, hydraulic punches and shears, drill press operations, band saw set up and use, and attention to detail are all skills we are looking for.

Fabrication Shop Worker Candidate Requirements Safety-Focused Strong mechanical aptitude Ability to perform physical activities in all weather conditions if needed Self-motivated with a solid work ethic Verifiably welding history Reliable transportation Fabrication Shop Worker Responsibilities Include (but Not Limited To) Maintaining a clean, orderly work area and complying with all OSHA and company policies/procedures Following all safety and environmental rules, regulations and procedures as set forth by company policies and OSHA Welding in flat, horizontal, vertical, or overhead positions.
Positioning, clamping, tack welding work pieces together per print, full weld out or assembling of sub structures. Operate cnc plasma cutting table after training Media blasting the fabricated steel pieces as needed Operate overhead cranes, hoists and forklifts Communicating with shop management and team on all safety, maintenance, and production needs Perform other tasks as assigned by supervisor What You'll Get Starting wage of $24-28 per hour (The specific rate will depend on the successful candidate’s qualifications and prior experience) Health, Dental and Vision insurance with Flex Spending Account Employee Assistance Program Paid Holidays Paid Vacation 401k with company match Monday-Friday schedule with some Saturday's if business needs require it We have seen tremendous success from current and past employees who have experience in farming, construction, and carpentry.
