Purchasing Supervisor - Steel and raw material procurement

🌎 We’re hiring: Purchasing Supervisor (Head of Purchasing) 📍 Apodaca / Monterrey Area, Nuevo León | On-site International metal-mechanical manufacturing company is looking for a Senior Purchasing Supervisor with strong experience in steel procurement and direct purchasing for manufacturing operations. This position is focused 100% on direct purchasing activities related to production and plant operations, including: ✔ Steel and raw material procurement ✔ Welding supplies and consumables ✔ PPE and operational materials ✔ Maintenance and machine operation materials ✔ Manufacturing support supplies We are looking for a hands-on and results-driven professional responsible for executing purchasing strategies, supplier negotiations, cost optimization, and ensuring material availability for production continuity.

🎯 Main responsibilities:

• Execute purchasing strategies for direct materials and production supplies
• Coordinate with engineering, production, planning, and quality teams
• Lead supplier negotiations, RFQs, pricing, lead times, and incoterms
• Monitor purchase orders, delays, and discrepancies
• Identify cost-saving opportunities and supplier development initiatives
• Ensure optimal inventory levels and operational continuity
• Generate purchasing KPIs and reports
• Supervise purchasing team activities ✅ Requirements:
• Experience in metal-mechanical or manufacturing industry
• Strong experience purchasing steel and direct materials
• SAP or ERP knowledge
• Supplier negotiation experience
• Intermediate to advanced English
