Job description

We are seeking a compassionate and dependable Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant to join Harborview Post Acute in Memphis. This permanent position focuses on working with post-acute patients recovering from surgery, illness, injury, and medically complex conditions. Under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist, you will assist patients in improving daily living skills, functional mobility, and overall independence.

Job Responsibilities

  • Assist in implementing occupational therapy treatment plans under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist
  • Guide patients through therapeutic activities focused on improving daily living skills and functional independence
  • Monitor patient progress and report any changes or concerns to the supervising Occupational Therapist
  • Educate patients and caregivers on adaptive techniques and proper use of equipment
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to support coordinated patient care and recovery planning
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of treatments and patient progress
  • Ensure compliance with facility policies and regulatory standards Requirements
  • Active state license as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant in Tennessee
  • Current BLS/CPR certification
  • Minimum of 6 months of recent COTA experience within the last 5 years preferred
  • Experience in post-acute, SNF, or rehabilitation settings is a plus
