Job description
Position Context: We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Road Load Data Validation Engineer to join our Vehicle Engineering team. The successful candidate will be responsible for collecting & validating road load data used in simulations, component durability analysis, and vehicle performance development. This role is critical in ensuring accurate data is collected, processed, and validated to support vehicle development and regulatory compliance.
Position Responsibilities
- Perform road load data Acquisition & Validation using test data acquired from vehicle testing, dynamometer testing, or simulation.
- Derive Accelerated cycle for vehicle & component level testing.
- Validate and compare measured data (e.g., acceleration, velocity, forces, torques) against expected performance criteria.
- Collaborate and plan to execute data acquisition from physical vehicle tests.
- Analyze raw data using tools such as JBEAM, n. Code Glyphworks, MATLAB, Python, Excel, or specialized data processing software.
- Develop and maintain data processing and validation scripts/tools for efficient analysis.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards in data validation procedures.
- Support durability and fatigue analysis by providing validated load data for critical components.
- Document and present validation results and anomalies clearly to engineering and management teams.
- Work cross-functionally with design, simulation, and calibration teams to integrate road load data into vehicle development cycles Requirements Education/ Professional knowledge:
- Mechanical, Automotive engineer with equivalent 7+ years work experience with good knowledge in Road load data acquisition & analysis. Skill, Experience:
- Experience with road load data acquisition systems
- SOMAT, Kistler, Dewesoft, Racelogic.
- Knowledge of data analysis softwares – n. Code glyphworks, jBEAM.
- Familiarity with sensors: strain gauges, accelerometers, IMUs, wheel force transducers
- Expertise in processing data – FFT analysis, filtering, signal conditioning.
- Ability to detect anomalies, sensor faults, drift, and noise in acquired data
- Familiar with validation methods such as coherence checks, peak analysis, and load spectrum comparison
- Understanding of force, moment, torque, and acceleration distribution in a vehicle Other requirements (if need):
- Domain of engineering fundamentals of Vehicle systems (EVs)
- Strong written and verbal communication in English language.
- Time & Project management.
- Adaptability and willingness to work in a lab environment for extended periods.
- Valid Driving licence ( LCV, SUV)
- Good problem solving and analytical skills.
- Willingness to travel when required as per business demands
