Summary The Program Associate plays a vital role in advancing ST&A’s mission to foster transparency, accountability, and inclusive governance in Yobe and the broader Northeast region. Under the guidance of the Program Manager, this position supports the end-to-end implementation of civic engagement, social accountability, and Civic-Tech initiatives.
The Associate will be instrumental in driving community-level impact through strategic coordination, field engagement, and meticulous documentation. This role offers a dynamic opportunity for an early-career professional passionate about civic rights, community development, and democratic participation to gain practical experience in program management within a vibrant civil society environment.
Responsibilities
Assist in planning, organizing, and executing program activities including community town halls, advocacy forums, and capacity-building workshops across Yobe State. Lead community mobilization efforts by building relationships with local stakeholders, community-based organizations, and government partners. Conduct field monitoring visits and document key observations, lessons learned, and measurable program outcomes.
Draft and compile program reports, meeting minutes, success stories, and other documentation to support accountability and learning. Maintain accurate and organized program activity trackers, attendance registers, and digital/physical filing systems. Coordinate logistics for program events, including venue booking, participant outreach, and preparation of materials and equipment.
Provide administrative support to the program team, including scheduling, email correspondence, and data entry. Support the design and implementation of social accountability mechanisms by facilitating community feedback collection and dissemination. Perform any additional duties as assigned by the Program Manager to advance ST&A’s programmatic goals.
