Advisor – Legal (recruiting from Malta only)

Our Client, one of Malta's leading providers of corporate, legal, accounting, and advisory services, is seeking to recruit an Advisor – Legal (Regulatory & Compliance) to join its growing Legal & Regulatory team. This role offers an excellent opportunity for a qualified legal professional with a strong interest in regulated industries to provide legal and regulatory support to a diverse portfolio of local and international clients.

The successful candidate will play a key role in licensing, regulatory compliance, corporate advisory, and legal documentation, particularly within the fintech, digital assets, i. Gaming, and technology sectors, while working closely with internal specialists and regulatory authorities.

Key Responsibilities

Provide legal and regulatory advice to clients operating within regulated industries, including fintech, digital assets, i. Gaming, and technology. Assist clients throughout licensing, authorization, and ongoing regulatory compliance processes with relevant Maltese regulatory authorities. Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, legal agreements, regulatory submissions, and other legal documentation.

Act as the primary liaison between clients, regulatory authorities, counterparties, and internal teams to ensure efficient communication and service delivery. Monitor legislative and regulatory developments, providing practical guidance on compliance obligations and business impacts. Support corporate transactions, restructuring projects, and ongoing compliance initiatives while managing a portfolio of clients.

Requirements

Minimum of four (4) years' post-qualification experience in legal, regulatory, or compliance advisory. Strong knowledge of regulated industries, particularly fintech, digital assets, i. Gaming, or financial services. Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities with strong attention to detail. Outstanding written and verbal communication skills in English.

Ability to manage multiple priorities independently while working collaboratively within a professional team. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and standard business applications. Licenses & Qualifications Master of Advocacy (M.Adv), Doctor of Laws (LL.D), or an equivalent legal qualification. Valid warrant to practice law in Malta.

Experience with MFSA licensing and regulatory frameworks will be considered an asset. Exposure to AML/CFT compliance and regulatory obligations will be considered advantageous.
